Meet the Midwife:

Autumn Rose
My Story:
As a young girl I left nursing school behind to move across the nation to Huntington Beach, California, deeply desiring to see revival in my generation. Here the genesis of my calling into midwifery began as a dream, a vision, and many meaningful confirmations. Since this day I have been captivated by birth and the intricacies of a woman's original design. My deep desire is to unearth the forgotten wisdom of our foremothers and carry forward the anointing of midwifery.
It my utmost honor to walk with women throughout the lifetime journey from maiden to matron.
Today I live with my husband and children on a small farm in Kennerdell, PA - tending to families in Western Pennsylvania and surrounding regions.

Who you invite into your space, birth, and healing matters.
Here I have outlined a brief "interview" to give you a taste of who I am, my philosophy of care, and my experience.
What training/experience do I have?
I have been a student of birth for 5+ years- now offering community care in the role of midwife. I am certified as a birth assistant through GoMidwife and a recognized Birthkeeper through Hearthmother Ministries. These years in between have been saturated with self-study, continued education through GoMidwife’s online curriculum, birthing my own littles, shadowing and apprenticing under various midwives, serving as a doula, and walking with women virtually through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and loss. I have received training in neonatal resuscitation and had the privilege of learning breech / twin maneuvers from Dt. Stuart Fischbein of Birthing Instincts during a Reteach the Breech Conference.
I am blessed to be mentored within community by the wisdom and experience of beloved wise women Amanda Sheffler and Ellen Benek of Apple Blossom Midwifery.
I am the mother of four wildlings (including one in eternity) all welcomed to the world from home. Two of my own births were overseen by a midwife and my littlest was a freebirth- born in the presence of only my husband, myself, and our Creator.
What is my philosophy of birth?
Birth is not a medical event to be feared but a normal life process worthy of utmost respect. I wholeheartedly believe that the experience of pregnancy and birth offer an extraordinary invitation for transformation if indeed a mother is willing to evolve throughout her journey.
As a traditional midwife I serve as a sister to sojourn
alongside throughout the childbearing year. In this role I offer hands to
serve, resources to help families make informed decisions, empowering
education, emotional/spiritual support, comfort measures, and wellness
assessments throughout the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum continuum.
I’ll be present to promote the unraveling of birth by design, offer
encouragement and insight, support dad as he navigates his role in the
birth space, and intercede as mama labors. I will arrive to the birth
prepared to assist and guide in the case of an emergency.
I am not your primary care provider nor the one who will “deliver” this
baby. While my hands will be present to step in and assist if the need
arises, I believe that these roles are foremost a mother’s honor. I may
provide wisdom or insight into different matters but it is her responsibility to implement wise self-care in the day-to-day; thus becoming the expert of her own body and her own primary provider.
I humbly recognize that I may not be the ideal fit for every client! However, if you find that this introduction resonates with your vision for your upcoming birth or healing journey, please do reach out. It would be my joy to connect and explore next steps together or to answer any questions you may have.
Blessings!
